Bungaree has a mixture of soil types ranging from alluvial creek flats along Boam Creek to deep self-mulching brigalow clays and red brown softwood soils on the rises. Irrigated paddocks are designed to minimize runoff and take advantage of these different soil types for different crops.

Pumps
Pump 1: Dawson River Anabranch pump, Worthington 10LR-15A high volume lift pump coupled to a 75KW electric motor. Pump is installed in a tank below water level providing efficient operation. Pump is capable of delivering 20meg/day via 455mm poly pipe to tailwater pond. Pump was overhauled and new electric motor and soft starter installed in November 2018.
Pump 2: Kelly and Lewis 12” split case pump coupled to a 150hp BT-6 Cummins diesel, 20meg/day capacity. Previously used to irrigate hill blocks (now under pivot) and fill Big Dam. Development plan has this pump connected to 455mm pipe to re-lift water from tailwater pond to Big Dam/Middle Dam or block #4 and #2. Pump overhauled in December 2017.
Pump 3: Re-lift pump from tailwater pond into top channel. 16” High Volume China pump coupled to 30KW electric motor, capable of pumping 30meg/day. Pump rebuilt November 2018.
Pump 4: Tailwater pump on block #4, lifts tailwater/rain event run-off into tailwater pond. 8” HBC40 China pump, PTO drive, capable of 17meg/day. Purchased new in January 2017.
Pump 5: Irrigation pump for block #4, lifts water from tailwater pond into #4 head drain. 8”HBC 40 China pump coupled to 4 cyl 70hp Isuzu diesel, with murphy gauges. Capable of 17meg/day. Purchased new in January 2017.
Pump 6: Boam Creek flood harvest pump. 15” Kelly and Lewis pump belt driven by 250hp GM diesel motor, capable of 43meg/day into Ring Tank. Last used in 2015.
Pump 7 & 8: 2 x 8” China pumps coupled to 25hp electric motors lifting water from top channel into middle dam, capable of 16meg/day combined. 1 x pump, motor and started renewed March 2018.
Pump 9: 15” Kelly and Lewis pump coupled to 100hp electric motor capable of lifting 43meg/day into middle dam from top channel. Pump and cable renewed in 2016, pump unused since repair.
Pump 10: 10” HB China pump coupled to a 50hp electric motor lifting water from Middle Dam to irrigate Bungaree West and Block #1. Capable of 27meg/day.
Pump 11: 10” HB China pump coupled to a 40hp electric motor lifting water from upper channel to Block #7 head ditch, capable of 20meg/day.

Irrigation Fields
Bungaree West: 51HA furrow irrigation, Boam Creek flats transitioning to heavier brigalow soils on NE side. Watered from Middle dam via Pump 10 or from Ring Tank via Pump 6.
Block #1: 46.5HA furrow irrigation, Boam Creek flats transitioning to heavy brigalow soils against Middle Dam. Watered from Middle dam via Pump 10 and from Bore #1.
Block #2: 54HA furrow irrigation, heavy brigalow soil types. Watered via gravity from Middle dam.
Block #4: 27HA furrow irrigation, heavy brigalow soil types. Watered via Pump 5 from tailwater pond or via gravity from Big Dam.
Block #6: 22HA furrow irrigation, Boam Creek flats. Watered via gravity from top channel.
Block #7: 20HA furrow irrigation, Boam Creek flats. Watered via Pump 11 from top channel.Pivot:  405m 57.33HA Zimmatic centre pivot with 5hp SR100 end gun. Pivot is powered by a silenced Yanmar genset at pivot tower, and is watered through 355mm poly pipe by a John Deere 4045D engine coupled to a Gould’s 150×125-315 iso pump running through a Dix 7500LPM stainless filter. Unit is controlled by Kenso constant pressure pump monitor and remotely operated via Field-net app, allowing application rates from 7-75mm per pass.  Design is based on 12mm/day capacity, requiring 8.3meg/day. Pivot was commissioned in June 2018.
